I have a story addiction. I love tv, movies, gossip, but most of all, books. I don't get all dolled up, but I do go for walks around my neighborhood and read at the same time. My brother wants to know how I pay attention to reading while I walk, when it's really the other way around. I might forget to walk, but reading is automatic.
I especially love fantasy stories - I'm on a Robin McKinley kick right now, reading Chalice.
What are you reading right now?
"I might forget to walk, but reading is automatic."
ReplyDeleteLOL - you need to invest in auditory books! I don't find time to read but I like fantasy too. I like to suspend reality whenever I get the chance. I might look up Robin McKinley when I have time read on vacation. Thanks for sharing.
I really want the outfit in this drawing! Currently, I'm reading Dear Husband by Joyce Carol Oates.

Haha, I haaaate auditory books. The readers never read the book the way I would and it drives me crazy.
ReplyDeleteRobin McKinley is awesome, but some of her books are better than others. I highly recommend "Beauty", "The Blue Sword", "Chalice", and "Pegasus".
I recommend avoiding "Dragon Haven", "Rose Daughter", and "Sunshine" - that's in order of how little I recommend them. If you encounter "Dragon Haven" it should be immediately flung across the room, preferably into a burning fire. "Sunshine" is acceptable if you have nothing else to read, but I'd never tell a first time McKinley reader to pick it up.
Not that I have strong opinions about it or anything.
Mandy, thanks! I love this outfit too :)
I'm reading St. Lucy's Home for Girls Raised by Wolves by Karen Russell. You would probably like it if you haven't read it already. I don't think I could read and walk at the same time because I think I would get dizzy or lose my place on the page a lot. Or I would trip or something!
ReplyDeleteHideaway, I haven't read it, I'll have to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteI love Laura Ingalls Wilder and a friend turned me on to a book called "The Wilder Life" about a lady who's more obsessed with Little House on the Prairie than I am--it's a fun and really funny read.
ReplyDeletethat's multitasking! I would definitely trip over or walk into something.
ReplyDeleteLove your illustrations

Janet, I enjoyed the Little House On The Prairie books when I was a kid, but my little sister was just crazy about them. I will definitely have to tell her about "the Wilder Life"
ReplyDeleteChristina, thanks! I just recently discovered your blog and I love it. I am just horrendous at styling my hair, but your blog has inspired me to grow it out a little and try again :)
Beautiful illustration:) I am currently reading Mistress of Nothing by Kate Pullinger.
ReplyDeleteLove the little brunette!
ReplyDeleteI also have a thing for books.
I'm not reading anything at the moment because when I pick a book up I can't put it down till it's finished....which can be a bit of a problem...
The next book on my list is Maya Angellou's I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. I've heard so many great things about it.
