When I was a kid we couldn't wait for "Mr. Frosty's" to open. It was a tiny soft serve stand with those candy eyes for the kid's cones. I'm sure there was nothing special about it, but it was ice-cream.
When I was a teenager UDF (United Dairy Farmer's) was our ice-cream shop of choice. Lucky for impatient teenagers, that delightfulness was open year round.
Now I live not far from some of the most delicious ice-cream ever made. "The Chief" has crazy long lines, but it's well worth it. And I kind of think it's fun that everyone comes out and hangs around together waiting for their ice-cream cones.
Do you have a favorite ice-cream shop?
What's your favorite flavor? Last year mine was peanut-butter, but this year I'm loving mint-chocolate-chip.
favorite flavor: pistachio! Hope your good!
ReplyDeleteMine is anything with coconut in it:):)
ReplyDeleteYou know I've never tried pistachio, some day I'll have to :)
ReplyDeleteMmmm, coconut.
Ooooh I had the best peanut butter ice-cream in Berlin last summer...was delish!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteAbout 10 days ago or so I bought an ice cream making machine :-)
I kid you not when I say that I made the best strawberry ice cream I ever had with 500g of organic strawberries, 400g of sugar and 150 ml of creams (not liquid but creamy, from Président).
And the machine only cost me around 18 Euro, which is less than 25 Dollars :-)
My next one may be mango.
Here in Portugal we have an ice cream house called Santini. Its reputation reaches beyond the country, being one of its customers the Spanish Royal Family. The king of Spain lived here for several years, if I'm not mistaken, as well as other elements from other european royal families, especially because of the II World War.
But if you want me to tell you a brand: Häagen-Dazs, namely its "Cookies & Cream."
Kind regards,
José
I love ice cream! Mint chocolate chip is certainly one of my faves! I've been making my own ice cream lately with an attachment for our kitchen aid stand mixer. It is sooo easy and super yummy!
