Some of my best memories from childhood are of my sister and I playing make-believe. We pretended to be mommies, drafting our stuffed animals and younger siblings to play our children, but somehow we were always moms on an adventure. We were arctic explorers, jungle scientists, carnival performers, or maybe we were just the fantastic inhabitants of a parallel universe.
What was your favorite thing to pretend as a kid?
I LOVE this graphic! What a great story behind it, too!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing to pretend at as a kid was "teacher." And when I was nice and let my brother choose what we'd play, it was "cowboys and indians!"
Thanks :)
DeleteWe played school sometimes with friends, but that was never very much fun because the oldest girl always insisted that since she was the only one who knew what school was like, she got to be in charge, lol.
Haha! Brilliant illustration! When I was a kid, I always pretended that I was a dog or owned a diner. :)

Thanks Mandy! I love that you pretended to own a diner, that's phenomenal.
DeleteWe did a lot of different pretending: Little House on the Prairie, running a restaurant/produce stand, teacher, interior design company, and of course there were Barbie adventures.
ReplyDeleteCute picture! I love how scandalized the blonde girl looks.
